When DeSo launched in 2021, we experienced viral growth by launching a consumer app that showcased the unique primitives (e.g., creator coins, on-chain content & social graph, etc.) offered by the DeSo Blockchain.

While virality was present, actual retention of a growing user base was absent from the equation. It led us to invest more heavily in our underlying infrastructure, including massive improvements to the DeSo onboarding & wallet UX.

The best way to illustrate DeSo's core value to users, developers, and investors is to launch an infinite-state app that demonstrates the full power of all of our advantages.

Initial estimates of our efforts, powered by our upcoming Revolution PoS, have shown the blockchain's ability to handle up to 10 million active users, with a concrete scaling roadmap to 100x this.

This also comes with great timing, as we’ve recently seen a renewed interest in SocialFi applications.

However, imagine a new crypto-native social app that is as easy to use as Instagram, with multiple ways to earn money without anyone’s permission or approval, unlike web2 incumbents like Patreon or OnlyFans.

Including new viral mechanics, like “social airdrops” and “social bounties,” that the team has been perfecting for over a year.

2024 will introduce Revolution Proof of Stake (PoS), a breakthrough state-of-the-art consensus algorithm that we believe will inspire teams for years to come by maximizing simplicity, security, and decentralization.

Revolution PoS brings high throughput, no-lockup staking, native yield (starting at 20% APY), and many other advantages to the DeSo Blockchain.

This includes maximum deflationary pressure due to an innovative burn-maximizing fee algorithm that improves significantly on Ethereum’s EIP-1559 while maintaining minimum emissions.

Revolution also lowers the friction for anyone in the world to permissionlessly run validators and nodes, thus greatly increasing overall decentralization.

We expect to launch testnet, alongside a validator hub, in a few weeks with the ability to stake your $DESO by January 2024.
